ABOUT

My name is Hart and I have lived in Shanghai since 2009. From 2010-2012, I had the very dope job as the lifestyle editor of Shanghai’s oldest, largest (and best, if I do say so myself) English language magazine, That’s Shanghai. I got paid to sniff out the latest and the greatest in the city’s lifestyle scene, including fashion, interior design, hotels and spas. It was as fun as it sounds.

Today, in addition to blogging and my own fashion brand, I work on several different freelance gigs, which all share the common thread of ‘fashion in Shanghai.’

CHINA FASHION MARKET RESEARCH:
If you are looking for a proactive, smart researcher to be your eyes and ears on the ground in China to help your clients increase their leverage in the local market, I’m your woman. I have helped brands like H&M and Adidas Originals for top dog ad agencies like Flamingo and Stylesight. My work includes consumer insight interviews, competitive market analysis (foreign and domestic), trend forecasting, street style photography, and connecting research teams with local influencers and leaders in the industry.

COPYWRITING
I write spiffy copy for a variety of clients – from up-and-coming fashion brands like Voyage Swimwear to Shanghai’s biggest commercial real-estate development in decades: The Kerry Centre Jing’An.

SHOPPING TOURS
I take the world’s most discerning shoppers around town to personally meet designers and help them discover the best and brightest of what’s hanging on Shanghai’s racks. This isn’t just about acquiring the ultimate Shanghai souvenir; I dish my expertise on the local market and industry trends during tours, which are tailored to meet clients’ needs. Partnering with market research agencies and China’s top luxury travel agencies Imperial Tours and Luxury Concierge China, my clients include Levi’s global creative executives and jewelry designer to the stars Ippolita Rostagno.

JOURNALISM / BLOGGING
I am currently the resident editor of LUXE Shanghai city guide, meaning I must keep my finger on the pulse of all things stylish happening in this city.
